I have been a “maker” since a very early age. As a young child, I went door to door selling looped potholders that I had woven on an old metal frame.
Designing my own fabric was always my dream. In late 2015 I took the first of many surface pattern design classes & I fell absolutely in love with it! I now get to sew with my own fabrics thanks to SpoonFlower!
I can sew pretty much anything & I love to learn something new with each item I make. I have dabbled in fashion design, weaving, and designing bags, backpacks and bike packs. I lost count of how many tea towels, quilts, hats, or scarves, that I have sewn or knitted! The onset of COVID quickly turned my studio into a face mask sewing production line.
I hope, through SpoonFlower, Society6, & my collaborations, that some of my designs will reach your home and hopefully, lighten your day a bit! So far, I know they are in Australia, Sweden, Morocco, Canada, US, and through one of my collaborators (RipSkirt), traveling the world! :)
With every purchase of fabric or item, I wonder, who bought it, what will they make, or where will they wear or put it. Where will it make it’s home? I am always thrilled to learn about and see things that you made!

Years ago I was a calligrapher. I loved the meditation of creating each letter & how it related to it’s neighbors. since I started surface pattern design I am having fun with new types of brushes, pens, & apps for developing fonts.
This was one of my Mom’s favorites sayings.
